Labine Shares Her Soap Stories with NATAS Member
TV Guide, June 1998
by Jonathan Reiner

Emmy award-winning head writer Claire Labine (Ryan's Hope and General Hospital) hosted an informal seminar the morning of June 17 at the New York chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Looking healthy, rested and stylish (thanks to a short new hairstyle), Labine charmed the attendees with her warmth, wit and war stories. The discussion was off the record, but I can share a few general details: Labine described her numerous stints in the industry, from Love of Live up to One Life to Live, and gave viewers a rare glimpse into the mind of a soap legend. When the conversation drifted to the present state of daytime, she let her opinions be known loud and clear. Without going into specifics, it would be a mistake to say that Labine is out of the soaps business for good.
